There
are many reasons you may want to create your own
endowment fund. For example, you may wish to
honor or memorialize someone who has
significantly shaped you, or to leave a legacy
which continues to support your lifelong
passions, values and goals.
How does an endowment fund
work? You might choose to endow your local
church’s ministries with youth or music, with
community involvement or in some other
dimension. Or you may want to support and
empower an essential ministry in our Annual
Conference or General Church (world-wide)
connection. After filling out the form below
with your ideas and interests, please contact us at the United Methodist
Foundation to assist you in establishing your
own endowment agreement.
Once an endowment fund is
created, anyone may contribute to it at any
time. The fund can grow over the years to
benefit future longterm ministries, while
providing earnings each year for creative,
second-mile ministry opportunities. By designing
your own endowment fund, 1 you
can influence future generations and minister to
them long past the reach of any one lifetime.
1 Personal
endowments require a minimum of $10,000,
but are flexible. Your endowment can be for a
lesser amount if combined with a pledge for the
balance. |
